Shrubs or herbs. Leaves alternate, pinnately or bi-pinnately compound; stipules inconspicuous. Sepals 5, united; margin entire or toothed. Petals 5, slightly imbricate; stamens 5. Ovary 2-5-locular. Styles 2-5, free or slightly united at the base. Fruit a drupe.

About 40 species distributed in India, Pakistan, Malaya, Japan to N. America. Represented here by 1 species.
