Blades up to 4.5-(-6.5) mm wide, smooth to scaberulous. Panicle ususally effuse, loosely spikeled, branches patent, scaberulous, the lowermost longest up to 10 cm long. Spikelets 1.75-2.75(-3) mm long. Lemma 1.5-1.85 mm long. Trichodium-net absent; callus hairs 0.1-0.2 m long; awn usually present, inserted at (o.37-)0.55-0.8th of the lemma, 0.75-2.75(-3) mm long. Palea variable (0.15-)0.3-0.5 mm long, (0.11-)0.25-0.33(-0.43) times as long as the lemma. Anthers 1-1.25(-1.5) mm long, 0.54-0.73(-0.8) times as long as the lemma.
