Annuals; culm slendder, flowering branches to 60 cm tall. Blade lanceolate or linear-lanceolate,
more or less appressed pubescent, 7-15 cm long, 13-20 mm wide; sheath margins ciliate, papillosepilose
all over; ligule membranaceous, 1-2 mm long. Panicle open, diffuse at maturity, branches capillary.
Spikelets ca. 1.3 mm long, compressed, minutely hispidulous at least on glumes and lower lemma;glumes 3-veined; lower glume 1/2 as long as spikelet; upper glume strongly gibbous, slightly shorter
than spikelet; lower lemma as long as upper lemma, upper lemma indurate, minutely longitudinally striate,
with a small crest on gibbous side (back) near summit; anther ca.0.5 mm long.
