Culm up to 70 cm tall, 1-2 mm in diameter. Blade up to 20 cm long, 4 mm wide, acuminae at both end; ligule chartaceous, truncate, 2 mm long. Panicle loose, up to 20 cm long. Spikelest 2-3-flowered, 7 mm long; pedicel unequal; glumes chartaceous; the lower deltoid-lanceolate, 1-nerved, 1.5 mm long; the upper lanceolate, weakly 3-nerved, 2.5 mm long, acuminate; lemma 6.5 mm long,lanceolate, chartaceous, 5-nerved, acute, with a slender awn slightly longer than the lemma; palea chartaceous, linear-lanceolate, chartaceous, 2-keeled, 6 mm long; anther 1-1.2 mm long.
