Description: Asteropeia amblyocarpa is a shrub to medium tree widely distributed in dry to subhumid forest from the far N to Andohahela PN. It can be recognized by its pedicellate flowers with a depressed ovoid to subglobose ovary (and fruit) that is rounded to somewhat indented at the apex and surmounted by an evident, slender style.
