1. Apacheria chiricahuensis C. T. Mason, Madroño. 23: 105, figs. 1, 2a. 1975.

Chiricahua rockflower

Shrubs 7–50 cm (often wider than tall). Leaves 3.5–7.5 × 1–2.3 mm. Sepals 3–3.5 mm, usually 2 opposing sepals slightly narrower and longer than other pair. Follicles 4–5 mm. Seeds 1–1.5 × 0.8–1 mm.

Flowering Apr–Nov. Rock crevices, cliff faces, on igneous or volcanic substrates (mostly rhyolite); of conservation concern; 1700–2100 m; Ariz., N.Mex.

Apacheria chiricahuensis has not been documented to occur outside the flora area; its presence in poorly botanized portions of adjacent northwestern Mexico is likely.
