Stems leafy, 15–20 cm. Leaf blades linear to ovate, 1–3 cm, base narrowing to petiole, mar­gins entire or lobed, undulate, surfaces glandular-pubescent. Flowers: calyx 2–4 mm; corolla 5–8 mm; stamens slightly exserted. Berries 6–7 mm diam. Seeds brown, 2 mm.

Flowering May–Jun. Sand, stabilized dunes, washes, valley flats; of conservation concern; 1200–1800 m; Calif., Nev.

Oryctes nevadensis is relatively rare and known from approximately 50 populations. The species is restricted to Inyo County in California, and Churchill, Esmeralda, Humboldt, Mineral, Pershing, and Washoe counties in Nevada.
