Stems openly branched distally, sparsely to moderately hispid, moderately to densely, finely stipitate-glandular. Leaves green, mid cauline averaging 32.8 × 8.8 mm (15–58 × 3.4–14.8 mm), faces glabrate to sparsely hispid (fewer than 5 hairs/mm²), sparsely to moderately stipitate-glandular.  Outer phyllaries lanceolate. 2n = 18. 
 
 
 
Flowering Jul–Oct. Sand and gravel deposits, stream margins, in oak and conifer woods; 0–500 m; Calif., Oreg., Wash.
