Rosettes dense, internodes not visible. Leaf blades 4-9(-13) mm. Flowering shoots 2-7(-12) cm. Flowers: sepals 1.8-5 mm, apex obtuse to acute; petals yellow, sometimes with reddish veins, 4-10 × 3.2-4.1 mm; anthers 1.7-1.8 mm. 
 
 
 
Flowering late spring-early summer. Granite to diorite outcroppings, mostly on western slopes; 1200-3700 m; Calif., Nev.
