Plants prostrate, sparsely mat-forming, 0.1-0.2 m. Leaves: petiole 1-3 mm; blade narrow-elliptic (diamond-shaped), 0.8-1.2 × 0.4-0.7 cm.
Flowering winter-early spring. Coastal prairies; 0-100 m; Calif.
Subspecies hearstiorum is known from the northern coastal region of San Luis Obispo County.
