Streptanthus albidus Greene, Pittonia 1: 62. 1887; Euklisia albida (Greene) Greene; S. glandulosus var. albidus (Greene) Jepson

Stems 3-12 dm, sparsely hirsute proximally, glabrous distally. Cauline leaves: blade conduplicate distally, margins entire, surfaces glabrous. Racemes not secund; rachis straight. Fruiting pedicels 4-8 mm, glabrous. Flowers: sepals greenish white, white, or pale yellow, 7-11 mm, glabrous; petals white (with light brown or purplish veins), 11-17 mm; adaxial filaments 8-10 mm. Fruits divaricate to ascending, straight; valves glabrous. 2n = 28.

Flowering Apr-Jul. Rocky, often barren ultramafic grassland openings; of conservation concern; 100-800 m; Calif.

Subspecies albidus is restricted to about ten populations at the western base of the Mount Hamilton Range, Santa Clara County. It intergrades locally with subsp. glandulosus in flower color.
