Leaf blades narrowly ovate, 3–4 cm, base ± narrowly cuneate, sinuses deep (max LII 15–20%). Inflorescence branches sparsely pubescent. Flowers 15–20 mm diam. Pomes 8–15 mm diam.
Flowering Apr–May; fruiting Sep–Oct. Brush, field margins, woodland edges; of conservation concern; 200–300 m; Minn., Wis.
Variety cuneata could perhaps be considered a 20-stamen variant of Crataegus fluviatilis or a particularly narrowly leaved form of C. flabellata var. grayana.
