Crataegus gemmosa Sargent, Bot. Gaz. 33: 119. 1902

Leaves: blade narrowly ovate to broadly elliptic, proportionately wide (1.3–1.5:1). Inflorescence branches pubescent. Anthers red or pink. Pomes 12–14 mm diam.

Flowering May; fruiting Sep–Oct. Brush, field margins, open woodlands; 100–300 m; Mich.

Variety gemmosa resembles var. succulenta except for larger fruit size.
