Sonoma clarkia

Godetia amoena (Lehmann) G. Don var. sonomensis C. L. Hitchcock, Bot. Gaz. 89: 338. 1930

Flowers: petals pinkish lavender shading to white proximally with red spot near middle, 20–40 mm; stigma exserted beyond anthers. 2n = 28.

Flowering May–Jun. Woodlands, forest openings; 0–500 m; Calif., Oreg.

Subspecies sonomensis is restricted to the North Coast Ranges of California in Colusa, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, and Sonoma counties, and of southern Oregon in Douglas and Josephine counties.
