Leaf blades lanceolate, 5–8 mm wide. Flowers: corolla bowl-shaped to rotate, petals lavender, broadly fan-shaped, length not greater than 1.5 times width, shallowly 2-lobed, lobes usually less than 1/5 petal length, sometimes obscure. 2n = 16.
Flowering Jun–Jul. Foothill woodlands; 0–500 m; Calif.
Subspecies brandegeeae is known from the northern Sierra Nevada Foothills, from Amador to Butte counties, including El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, and Yuba counties.
