Flowers: petals pink to lavender, unspotted, 6–23 mm, base darker or not; stigma not exserted beyond anthers. 2n = 28.
Flowering Apr–Jul. Woodlands, forest openings; 0–1500 m; Calif., Oreg., Wash.
Subspecies gracilis is found throughout most of northern California below 1500 m, and is more scattered in western Oregon and Washington.
