Inflorescences open racemes, axis recurved at tip in bud; buds pendent. Flowers protandrous; petals lavender to pink or magenta, without zones or flecks of color, 8–30 mm, sometimes 2-lobed; ovary conspicuously 8-grooved; stigma exserted beyond anthers.
