Leaves with margins deeply lobed more than 1/2 distance to midvein, often lobed almost to midvein; lobes typically rounded at apex. 2n = 24.
Flowering May–Sep. Moist areas, sandy riverbanks, slash pine–palmetto woodlands, roadsides; 0–10 m; Fla., Ga.
Variety floridanum is found in the vicinity of the Apalachicola, Aucilla, and Suwannee rivers in the Gulf Coast region of Florida and Georgia and sparingly in the coastal plain of Georgia.
