Small tree ferns; stem black, erect, to about 1 m tall, 1-2 cm in diameter, covered with stubs of
persistent leaf bases, apex scaly. Fronds slightly dimorphic, long lanceolate, hair-pointed, brown scales
with paler margins; rachis scales similar but smaller; rachis narrowly winged, bearing a small lobe
between each pinna; venation free, simple or once forked; veinlets ending in hydathodes; margins of
pinnules entire or serrulate; median pinnae 4-8 cm long, lower pinnae shortened to small lobes of about
2 mm long. Fertile fronds slightly contracted, pinnae with caudate apices. Sori costal, coenosori,
sporangia borne on straight unbranched fertile veins parallel to costa; indusia thin, linear, brown,
continuous or lobed; free margin of fertile pinnae very narrow, inroled.
Only one known species.
