腫柄菊屬
Coarse annual or perennial herbs or shrubs. Leaves alternate, opposite at stem base, simple or lobed. Heads solitary or few together, radiate; peduncle apically broadened, hollow. Involucral bracts in 2 to 5 rows. Paleae rigid, acuminate to aristate, usually lobed. Ray florets minutely 2- or 3-lobed, yellow or orange; disc florets slender, yellow. Achenes oblong or obovate, more or less 3- or 4-angled. Pappus of connate scales, sometimes of one or two awns, or wanting.
About 10 species native from northern Mexico to Panama; one species introduced and naturalized in Taiwan.
