Bulbophyllum kusukusense Hayata
Rhizomes terete, 5 mm in diam., distinctly nodose, often sulcate on surface. Pseudobulbs 3-5 cm apart, cylindrical, 1-3 cm long, 6-8 mm in diam., smooth or more or less sulcate, green, lustrous. Leaves erect, fleshy, oblong-linear, 6-8 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, green above, pale below, apex obtuse or retuse, base cuneate and decurrent into a short petiole. Scape from base of pseudobulbs, 4-6 cm long, surrounded by 4 or 5 tubular sheaths at base; pedicel 4-7 cm long. Flowers solitary, pale yellow, with red veins, ca. 2 cm in diam.; sepals subequal, lanceolate, 2 cm long, 5 mm wide, apex acute, 5-nerved; petals similar to sepals but slightly shorter, 3-nerved; lip yellow, tinged with red along margins and lower surface, horn-like, 0.8-1 cm long; column 5 mm long, without distinct wing at apex, foot as long as column; anther yellow, conic, 2.3 mm long, short pubescent; pollinia 4, in two pairs. Capsules ellipsoid, to 4 cm long.

Southern China, the Himalaya, India, the Ryukyus, Thailand and Indochina. Taiwan, very common in broad-leaved forests below 1,000 m.
