    Tufted epiphytic herbs. Roots ca. 3-4 mm thick. Pseudobulbs ovoid, 1.5 cm tall, 1 cm wide, often enclosed by leaf sheaths. Leaves 2-5, linear, 30-50 cm long, 15-20 mm wide, dark green above, pale green below, coriaceous, apex acute, narrowed at base and articulated with sheaths, midrib elevated on lower surface, lateral veins obscure; sheaths ca. 4 cm long. Peduncle producing from base of pseudobulb, erect or slightly arching, 10-15 cm long, with several overlapping sheaths near base; rachis 10 cm or longer; bracts rather small, lanceolate, 4-5 mm long; pedicel and ovary 2 cm long. Flowers many, perianth spreading, dark purple, with yellowish band along margins, ca. 3 cm in diam.; sepals lan-ceolate-oblong, 2 cm long, 4 mm wide, obtuse; petals oblanceolate, 1.8 cm long, 5 mm wide; lip 3lobes, 1.5 cm long, 1 cm wide, later lobes erect, semioblong, pale purple, with many minute dots, mid-lobe reflexed, white, with irregular purple patches, ovate, apex obtuse, disc 2-keeled, keels parallel, yellow, minutely papillose; column greenish brown, 1.2-1.5 cm long; anther semispherical, 2-celled, minutely hirsute; pollinia 2, deeply cleft, with and distinctly unequal lobes, attached to broad rectangular viscidium.

    Southern China. Taiwan, forests at 1,000-2,500 m, on higher trunks and branches or rocky cliffs in rather sunny places, throughout.
