Epiphytes. Stems tufted. Pseudobulbs ovoid, 1-1.5 cm long, slightly compressed laterally. Leaf solitary, oblong-oblanceolate, 5-20 cm long, 1.5-3.5 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, decurrent. Peduncle terminal on pseudobulb, as long as leaves or longer, compressed, ridged; bracts lanceolate, 7-12 mm long; pedicel and ovary 1.5 cm long. Flowers secund, greenish yellow, sometimes tinged with orange, perianth widely spreading; sepals lanceolate, 7-8 mm long, 2 mm wide revolute, lateral speals often positioned under lip, oblong, 5-7 mm long, 3 mm wide; petals linear, 8 mm long, 1 mm wide; lip obovate, 7 mm long, 5 mm wide, apex truncate, cuspidate, base cuneate, recurved downward; disc with a pair of calli at base; column 4-5 mm long, curved, with 2 auricle-like wings at apex, dilated towards base; anther 1 mm long; pollinia 0.8 mm long. Capsules ellipsoid, ca. 1 cm long, pedicel 6 mm long. Seeds fusiform, 0.4 mm long.

Wildly distributed from Japan, the Ryukyus, southern China, and the Himalaya, to the Philippines and Indochina and southward to Java and Sumatra. Taiwan, common in forests at low elevations throughout the island.
