Habenaria hayataeana Schltr.
Tall erect herbs to 60 cm high. Tuberoids ovoid to fusiform, 2-4 cm long. Stem leafy from middle to upper part, 10-30 cm long, 4-6 mm thick, sheathing below. Leaves 4-6, closely clustered or slightly spaced, green on th upper surface, pale on lower surface, membranaceous, mainly elliptic, variable in size, 6-15 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, apex obtuse or acute, decurrent at base. Peduncle 10-15 cm long, with few linear-lanceolate scales; rachis 10-15 cm long; bracts longer than ovary, lanceolate, 12-15 mm long, 3 mm wide, acuminate; pedicel and ovary closed to rachis, 5-8 mm long. Flowers numerous, yellowish green; dorsal sepal concave, ovate, 4-5 mm long, 2.5-3 mm wide, apex acute; lateral sepals elliptic-cym-biform, 4-5 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, 1-keeled abaxially; petals obovate-rhombic, slightly oblique, 5 mm long, 3.5-4 mm wide, apex obtuse, contracted at base; lip orbicular, 3-lobed, 5-6 mm long, lateral lobes triangular-oblong, 2 mm long, 1 mm wide, central lobe ovate-orbicular, 3 mm across, obtuse or rounded at apex, spur nearly globose, 2 mm in diam.; column ca. 1.5-2 mm tall, with broad and large auricle on both sides; anther cells 1.5 mm long, rather close, slightly divergent below; pollinia ovoid, 1 mm long, caudicle 0.3 mm long, viscidia small, globose; stigma clavate, placed beside auricle; rostellum not protruding, triangular, with short lateral arms. Capsules cylindrical-fusiform, ca. 1 cm long.
