Pholidota cantonensis Rolfe, Kew Bull. 196. 1896.

烏來石山桃

  • Pholidota uraiensis Hayata

    Rhizomes covered by overlapping sheaths, terete, 2-3 mm thick. Pseudobulbs 2-4 cm in distance, elongate ovoid, 1-2.5 cm tall, ca. 1 cm in diam., often surrounded by 2 or 3 scales, 2-leaved at apex. Leaves linear-oblanceolate, 6-14 cm long, ca. 1 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate and narrowed into short petiole. Peduncle horizontal or slightly ascending, 6-8 cm long, covered by many distichous sheaths; rachis ca. 5 cm long; bracts caducous, ovate, convolute, ca. 5-6 mm long; pedicel and ovary 45 mm long. Flowers whitish but with yellow lip; sepals subequal, concave, ovate-oblong, 3-4 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, acute, lateral ones slightly oblique and keeled abaxially; petals broadly ovate, as long as sepals, 3 mm wide; lip continuous to short column foot, cymbiform, 3 mm long, strongly incurved, glabrous, saccate at base, inner wall of sac separated transversely from column foot by thin semicircular ridge; column 2 mm long, with short broad foot at base, shallowly 3-lobed at apex; anther with protruding cells below; pollinia clavate, 0.7 mm long, with narrow caudicle.
