Rhizome creeping; scales abundant, dark brown, lanceolate, entire; c. s. with 2 large bundles and 4
smaller ones. Stipes distant, about as long as lamina, persistent, dark brown, sparingly scaly at base,
grooved above, 15-30 cm; c. s. oval with 2 bundles connected by sclerenchyma tissue; fronds pinnate,
glabrous, subcoriaceous; pinnae adnate, usually falcate, margins entire, median pairs longest, usually
3-5 cm long, lower 3 pairs very much shortened (0.5-2 cm long); venation hidden, with costal areoles,
ultimate veinlets free, often forking. Sori costal continuous, not reching apex of pinnae and not quite
reaching base; indusia brown, opening towards costa.
