Bulbophyllum taiwanense (Fukuy.) Nackejima, Bot. Mag. Okinawa. 10: 36. 1973.

台灣捲瓣蘭

  • Cirrhopetalum taiwanense Fukuy.

    Rhizomes woody, 1-2 mm in diam., rugose. Pseudobulbs 5-15 mm apart, ovoid to globose, 6-12 mm long, 4-8 mm thick, green, more or less sulcate. Leaves elliptic to oblong, 3-5 cm long, 0.8-2 cm wide, apex obtuse or retuse, base cuneate, thick and fleshy, upper surface green, lower surface pale, margins more or less revolute; petiole 1 mm long. Scapes from base of pseudobulb, erect, 6-10 cm long, slender; rachis 1 cm long; bracts lanceolate, 3 mm long, acuminate; pedicel and ovary 9-10 mm long. Flowers 5-8, racemose, closely spaced, orange-red; dorsal sepal concave, ovate-lanceolate, 6-8 mm long, 3 mm wide, ciliate, 3-nerved; lateral sepals free, divaricate, linear lanceolate, oblique, 13-15 mm long, 2 mm wide, entire; petals ovate, 5 mm long, 2 mm wide, acute at apex, ciliate; lip horn-like, fleshy, 3 mm long, tapering toward apex, disc sulcate; column orange, 1.5 mm long, with 2 slender stylids nearly as long; foot 2 mm long; anther cap semiglobose, 0.5 mm long; pollinia 2, nearly globose.

    PINGTUNG: Mutan, Segawa 4731; Nanjenshan, Su 954. TAITUNG: Chingshuiying, Su 185, 606.

    Endemic, only in the southwestern part and on the Hengchun Peninsula, in forests below 1,000 m.
