Zosterostylis arachnites Blume
Plants, 25-50 cm tall. Rhizome often short, rarely up to 10 cm long, creeping, 1-3-foliate. Leaves elliptic to elliptic-oblong, 6-15 cm long, 3-8 cm wide, green above, pale green beneath, apex acute, base acute or cuneate, decurrent into petiole; petioles 5-20 cm long, fleshy. Scape 20-50 cm long, 2-5-scaled below; rachis 10-20 cm long; bracts ovate, 5-nerved. Flowers 10-25; sepals green, linear lanceolate, 1.5-2.0 cm long, 2-3 mm wide, inrolled on margins; petals similar to sepals, 1-1.5 cm long, 1.5-2.5 mm wide; lip orange-red, scattered with dark spots, ovate-oblong, 1.5-2 cm long, 6-8 mm wide, velvety on upper surface, glabrous on lower surface, acute at apex, recurved on middle margins, rounded and saccate at base, sac semiglobose, hirsute inside, disc with 4 main veins parallel to midrib, outer ones much close to midrib, midrib much thickened; column 2.3-2.6 mm long, auricles smooth outside; anther ellipsoid, erect, echinate outside; pollinia with subglobose viscidium.

Widely distributed in southeast Asia, India and Sri Lanka. Taiwan, broadleaved forests below 1,000 m throughout the island excluding south cape.
