    Plants 20-30 cm tall. Rhizomes creeping. Roots dense. Stems erect, slender, 10-20 cm long, with few tubular sheaths at base. Leaves 3 or 4, alternate, loosely spaced when flowering, nearly sessile or short petiolate, elliptic or ovate, 5-10 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, apex acute, base short sheathing, plicate, entire, glabrous, many nerved. Peduncle 3-6 cm long, with short glandular hairs; bracts leafy, ovate-lan-ceolate, 5-7 cm long, 1.5-2.2 cm wide, acuminate, sparsely ciliate; pedicel and ovary ca. 3 cm long, sparsely glandular pubescent. Flowers solitary, yellowish, ca. 4-6 cm in diam.; dorsal sepal ovate-lan-ceolate, 3.5-4 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, apex acuminate, contracted at base; synsepal ovate, 2.5-3 cm long, 1.5-1.8 cm wide, short bifid at apex; petals oblong, ca. 3.2 cm long, 0.8 cm wide, apex acute, densely barbate near base; lip sac ovoid or ellipsoid, ca. 2-2.5 cm long, 1.8 cm wide, 1.3 cm tall, with an adaxial orbicular opening in center, opening ca. 5 mm across, base of upper surface with erect crisped collar-like wall, barbate inside erect wall, sac glabrous inside; column ca. 1 cm long, 3-4 mm thick, with wing-like appendages on both sides, barbate at ventral base; anther orbicular-cordate, 3 mm across, filament attached near top of wing-like appendage; staminode stalked, concave above, cordate-triangular or hastate, 8 mm long, stalk 3-4 mm long; stigma thick, solid cymbiform, 8 mm long, slightly protruding beyond staminode.

    Endemic. Steep cliffs and talus on eastern slope of central range, 1,300-2,000 m.
