Dendrobium ventricosum auct. non Kranzl.: T. S. Liu & H. J. Su
Stems erect, ancipital, 30-40 cm long, yellow, lustrous, usually enclosed by fleshy green leaf sheaths; internodes 2-4 cm long, obliquely ancipital-clavate, 1 or 2 of lower internodes thickened and forming pseudobulb. Pseoudobulb nearly ventricose, 2-4 cm long, 7 mm in diam., longitudinally furrowed. Leaves distichous, fleshly, subterete, straight or slightly curved, 4-7 cm long, ca. 4-5 mm wide, apex acute, base articulated with sheath. Racemes usually 1-flowered, near apex of stem; bracts membranaceous, sheath-like, 4 mm long; pedicel and ovary 1 cm long. Flowers white, subpatent, ca. 2 cm long; dorsal sepal oblong, 12-14 mm long, 4-5 mm wide, obtuse; lateral sepals obliquely lanceolate, 17 mm long, 5 mm wide, adnate at base to foot of column forming long mentum, free at apex, mentum spur-like, 8 mm long; petals oblong-obovate, 10-12 mm long, 4 mm wide, obtuse or acute; lip ovate, 1820 mm long, 11 mm wide, apex rounded, base cuneate, 3-lobed, lateral lobes triangular, minutely toothed apically, with purple veins, terminal lobe squarish or rounded, fimbriate, 5 mm long, 7 mm wide, disc broadly keeled, keel yellow hirsute; column 2 mm long, 2 mm wide, foot 8 mm long, with yellow, callus at base; anther hood-like; pollinia oblong, 1 mm long. Capsule oblong-obovoid, 2 cm long, 8 mm wide, erect or slightly nodding.
