    Plants to 16 cm tall including inflorescence. Stems terete, green, turning dark purple below. Leaves oblong, 3-7 cm long, 4-12 mm wide, acute or obtuse at apex, narrowed into tubular sheath at base.Flowers single, nearly erect, perianth not widely spreading, nearly white; bracts narrow, linear-lan-ceolate, 2.5-3 cm long; pedicel and ovary greenish purple, slender, ca. 1.8 cm long; sepals and petals oblanceolate, 13-15 mm long, 2.2-4 mm wide, acute to acuminate at apex, slightly narrowed at base; lip connivent and parallel with column, lanceolate, 11 mm long, 4.5 mm wide, 3-lobed from middle, lateral lobes short, triangular, acute, midlobe oblong, 5 mm long, 2 mm wide, apex acute, dentate, disc with broad and low keel extending from base to base of midlobe and turning into 3 rows of fleshy hairs; column nearly straight, white, terete, 7.2 mm long, 1.7 mm wide; anther nearly cubic, truncate at top; pollinia soft powdery, cleft. Capsules cylindrical, ca. 2 cm long.

    Japan. Taiwan, rare in grasslands, 2,200-2,400 m, in the southern mountainous regions.
