    Plants 10-18 cm tall. Tuberoids nearly globose, 5-10 mm across. Stem pale green, sometimes tinged with purple, slender, erect, glabrous, with 1-2 sheaths at base. Leaves usually 2, alternate, remotely or closely arranged near middle of stem, sometimes nearly radical, linear-oblong or lanceolate, 4-5 cm long, 7-8 mm wide, apex acute, decurrent at base. Spikes pedunculate, peduncle 2-4 cm long, rachis 1-3 cm long; bracts green or purple, chartaceous, lanceolate, 8-20 mm long, apex acuminate, lower ones larger; pedicle and ovary 1-1.5 cm long, nearly straight. Flowers 1-3, whitish purple or rose, with purple or red dots on lip, rarely pure white; dorsal sepal erect, oblong, concave, 6-9 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, apex acute, contracted at base; lateral sepals obliquely ovate-oblong, 8-11 mm long, 3.5 -5mm wide, apex acute, contracted at base; petals usually connivent above column, obliquely ovate-oblong, 6-8 mm long, 3-3.5 mm wide, apex obtuse, short clawed and obliquely auricled at base; lip rose or white or sometimes tinged with pale yellow at base, dotted with purple on disc, highly variable in size and shape, obtriangular or nearly orbicular, spurred at base, 1-1.6 cm long, 1.2-1.7 cm wide, entire or irregular serrate along front margin, 3-lobes, lateral lobes triangular, ovate or trapezoid, 2-4 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, obtuse or truncate at apex, central lobe ovate-quadrangular or oblong, truncate, emarginate or bifid and sometimes shortly aristate at indentation, 4-8 mm long, 4-7 mm wide, disc folded upward near entrance of spur, spur cylindrical, pointing backward or downward, longer or nearly equal to length of lip blade, 7-13 mm long, 2-3 mm in diam., slightly attenuate, obtuse at apex; column 3-4 mm tall; anther locules clavate, 2-3 mm long; pollinia ovoid, 1-1.3 mm long; viscidium ellipsoid.

    Endemic, alpine grasslands and scree slopes, 3,000-3,800 m.
