Zeuxine somai Tuyama
Terrestrial herbs. Stems creeping at base, ascending above, to 20 cm tall, 2.5-3.5 mm in diam., with 3-6 subrosette leaves. Leaves ovate to ovate-elliptic, polished at upper surface, 4-6 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, apex acute, rounded at base, green or with white band along midrib; petiole 1-2 cm long. Peduncle 10-15 cm long, hairy, with 3-5 bract-like sheaths, sheaths hairy abaxially, ciliate at margins; rachis 5-10 cm long, to 20-flowered; floral bracts glabrous or sparsely hairy abaxially, ciliate at margin, with reddish veins; ovary glabrous or sparsely hairy, green or greenish brown. Sepals glabrous, 5-6 mm long, concave, green at base, tinged with orange yellow toward apex, dorsal one ovate, erect, lateral ones ovate-oblong, more or less spreading; petals white, obliquely ovate-oblong, lower side involute and enclosing claw of lip; lip tripartite, hypochile saccate, bearing 3-digitate papillae, mesochile flat and broad, epichile divergently bilobed, lobules triangular or sub-rounded, white, with brown patches near base; column 3.3-3.6 mm long, with vertical ventral appendages; anther broadly ovate, ca. 2 mm long; polliinia 2, yellow; stigma 2, located between base of rostellum and appendages; rostellum erect, deeply cleft, tegula stipe rhombic-oblong, acute at base, bifid at apex, concave at lower half, with 2 longitudinal grooves at upper half and showing M or W shape in transverse section; viscidium oblanceolate or obovate.
