夏赤箭

Rhizome tuberous, horizontal or rarely erect, 4-10 cm long, 6-16 mm thick, bearing many coral-like roots. Stems often 40-70 (30-108) cm long, distantly noded and sheathed. Raceme 7-25 cm long, loosely 10-28-flowered; bracts minute, triangular lanceolate, deciduous. Flowers tubular, rarely somewhat ventricose, half open, pale yellowish green, about 0.6 cm across; pedicel and ovary about 0.6 cm long; sepals connate at base, trilobed at apex, 10-11 mm long, smooth outside, lobes curvedinward, dorsal sepal connate for 3/4 of its length with lateral sepals, with a minute triangular tooth at sinus, lateral sepals joined basally for 1/2 of their length, obtuse at apex; petals attached to sepal tube, broadly ovate or subcircular, 2-3 mm long, more or less cordate at base; lip obovate to obovate-oblong, yellowish, trilobed, 6-7 mm long, 5-6 mm wide, involute at lateral sides, round at apex, obtusely cuneate toward base, shortly clawed at base, claw with a pair of ellipsoid calli, disc slightly sulcate from base to middle part and bearing 2 big pyramid-like protuberance near apex; column hemispherical, 6-7 mm long, narrowly winged; anther orbicular, 1 mm across; stigma near base of column; rostellum revolute. Capsules ellipsoid, to 2.3 cm long, pedicel not distinctly elongated.

Endemic, in forests of the central mountainous region, 1,100-1,300 m.
