Listera shikokiana Makino
Plants 10-18 cm tall. Stems pale green or purplish, ridged, with 1-2 tubular sheaths near base, 6-8 cm long below leaves. Leaves cordate or ovate-triangular, 1.1-1.8 cm long, 1-1.6 cm wide, acute or mucronate at apex, cordate or truncate at base. Raceme 3-6 cm long, 3-8-flowered, peduncle and rachis puberulous; bracts ovate, 1-2 mm long; pedicel and ovary 9-14 mm long, pedicel slender, glabrous or slightly puberulous toward base. Flowers spreading, light green and tinged with purple especially along veins; dorsal sepal broadly ovate, 1.8-2.5 mm long, 0.8-1 mm wide, apex acute, slightly contracted at base; lateral sepals obliquely ovate, 2-2.5 mm long, 0.7-1.1 mm wide; petals lanceolate or linear-lan-ceolate, 1.8-2.5 mm long, 0.5 mm wide; lip green or purple, elongate-cuneate, ca. 6 mm long, slightly narrowed and 1-1.5 mm wide at base, base prolonged into 2 rectangular incurved auricles embracing top of column, lamina 2-lobed from middle, lobes divergent, linear, 3-4 mm long, with acute or truncate, entire or incised apex, sinus with triangular tooth, disc glabrous, with Y-shaped fleshy keel running from sinus to base of lamina; column stout, ca. 0.8 mm long, sessile; anther ovoid, ca. 0.6 mm long.
