Listera kuanshanensis H. J. Su, J. Expt. Forest Natl. Taiwan Univ. 13(3): 206, pl. 2. 1999.

關山雙葉蘭

Plants to 12-14 cm tall. Stems erect, subfiliform, ca. 7 cm long below leaves. Leaves sessile, deltoid or ovate-semiorbicular, 1.5 cm long, 1.8-2 cm wide, apex acute, truncate or truncate-subcordate, glabrous on both surfaces, membranaceous, mainly 5-nerved, with reticulate veinlets. Raceme 3-4 cm long, 6-7-flowered, peduncle and rachis puberulous, portion between flowers and leaves 3 cm long, with 2-bract-like scales; floral bract ovate-lanceolate, 3.5 mm long, apex acute, contracted at base; pedicel and ovary straight, 8 mm long, glabrous. Flowers spreading, greenish; dorsal sepal ovate-lanceolate, 3.3 mm long, 1 mm wide, apex obtuse, slightly contracted at base; lateral sepals falcate, 3.5 mm long, 1.2 mm wide, apex acute, broadly cuneate at base; petals linear-lanceolate, 3.3 mm long, 0.5 mm wide, obtuse; lip spreading, lanceolate, 14 mm long, 2.5 mm wide near base, truncate and shortly stipitate at base, divergently 2-lobed at middle, lobes linear, 6.5-7 mm long, 0.5-0.6 mm wide at base, narrowly acuminate toward apex, disc with broad longitudinal low keel; column 2.5-3 mm long, curved near apex, with short neck and slightly dilated stalk at base; anther suberect or inclined, 1 mm long; rostellum rectangular, 0.9 mm long, apex truncate-mucronate.

Endemic, Picea morrisonicola and Chamaecyparis formosensis forests in the southern mountains, 2,650 m.
