Stauroglottis equestris Schauer
Stems ca. 2 cm long. Leaves linear-ligulate, 12-24 cm long, 3-5 cm wide, apex obtuse or unequally 2-lobed, base cuneate, fleshy, articulated with short broad sheath. Racemes simple or sometimes branched, to 30 cm long; bracts ovate, ca. 4 mm long; pedicel and ovary 2-3 cm long, very slender. Flowers numerous, pale pink with rose lip, ca. 2 cm in diam.; dorsal sepal oblong, 11-13 mm long, 5-6 mm wide, acute; lateral sepals falcate-ovate, 11-14 mm long, 6-7 mm wide, acute at apex, contracted at base; petals oblong-obovate, 10-13 mm long, 4-6 mm wide, acute at apex, strongly contracted at base; lip continuous to foot of column, 3-lobed, lateral lobes yellowish, erect or ascending, linear-falcate, 5-7 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, midlobe ovate-elliptic, 9-10 mm long, 7 mm wide, acute, with a fleshy conduplicate callosity near base; column 7-9 mm long, semi-terete, slightly dilated near apex; anther ovaterhomic, ca. 2 mm long; pollinia obovate, 1 mm long, with a tapering stipe ca. 3 mm long; viscidium ovate-lanceolate, 1mm long; rostellum slender, deeply cleft, 2 mm long . Capsules cylindrical, 6 cm long.
