Sarcochilus saruwatarii Hayata
Stems ca. 2 cm long. Leaves nearly distichous, elongate oblong or linear-oblanceolate, 4-8 cm long, 5-20 mm wide, apex obtuse or acute or sometimes minutely bifid at apex, base cuneate. Peduncle flexuous, suberect or pendulous, 5-8 cm long, slender; rachis slightly dilated; bracts triangular ovate, 2 mm long; pedicel and ovary 4-6 mm long. Flowers 3-8, loosely spaced, white or rarely pale yellow, sometimes tinged with purple; dorsal sepal oblong, 6-8 mm long, 3-5 mm wide, obtuse; lateral sepals obovate, 6-8 mm long, 3-5 mm wide, slightly oblique, obtuse; petals linear-falcate, 5-6 mm long, 2 mm wide, obtuse or rounded at apex, contracted at base; lip saccate, 3-lobed, ca. 4-6 mm long, sac rounded but often cleft at base, lateral lobes falcate, 3 mm long, with brownish lines inside, midlobe brownish orange, triangular, dilated into a thick callus; disc with a basal callus, callus with dense yellowish hairs; column less than 2 mm long, foot shorter, often with brown blotches. Capsules linear-cylindric, 5-7 cm long.
