厚葉風蘭

Stems pendulous, often branched at base, compressed, more or less apically upcurved, to 50 cm long, covered by equitant leaf sheaths. Leaves more or less distichous, coriaceous, thick and rigid, lin-ear-lanceolate, 6-10 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, conduplicate, especially near base, articulate with sheath. Peduncle apically dilated, 1-2 cm long; bracts scale-like, 2 mm long; pedicel and ovary 1-1.5 cm long. Flowers 1-3, pale yellow or tinged with orange, 1.5 cm in diam.; sepals not widely spreading, elliptic, ca. 8-10 mm long, 4-5 mm wide, obtuse or acute, lateral ones wider; petals oblong-obovate, 9 mm long, 4 mm wide, obtuse at apex, contracted at base; lip white, with orange blotches, saccate at base, 7 mm long, 9-10 mm wide when expanded, 3-lobed, lateral lobes falcate, erect, acute, midlobe fleshy, slightly retuse; disc yellow, with a long apically furcate callus, callus covered with white hairs; column 2 mm long, foot 3-4 mm long, curved; anther cap white, orbicular to rectangular, 1 mm long, 1.8 mm wide.

The Philippines, Thailand, Sumatra and Java. Taiwan, forests along streams at low elevations in the center and south.
