Note: The cultivated lemon (The Malagasy names: Voasary makirana and Tsoha refer both to this species and the lime), is widely cultivated and is known to be naturalized in scattered localities throughout much of the country although it is rarely collected. It was wrongly referred to by Perrier de la Bâthie as C. aurantifolia, which is cultivated but apparently not naturalized in Madagascar.
