Meehania urticifolia (Miq.) Makino
Stoloniferous plant with short rhizome and decumbens stems 15-40 (-110) cm long. Leaves cordate, long-petioled, toothed. Flowers 3-5 cm long, lavender-blue with bright spot and stripes, arranged in 2-6 flowered erect spikes. V - mid spring to late autumn. Fl - May, June, for three weeks. Fr. - September (rare). P - easy by stolones, cuttings. Very good as ground cover in shady place. Z 5. New
Far East (southern regions), China, Japan, Korea. Mountain forests.
