Niedzwedzkia semiretshenskia B. Fedtsch.

Taproot thick and long. Leafy stems 20-40 cm, branched in upper part, woody at the base. Leaves alternative, numerous, pinnate or palmatisect. Flowers solitary, tubular or funnelform, 2-3 cm long, purple-violet. V- early spring to late autumn. Fl - mid spring to late autumn (end of April to August in Kazakstan) for three months, especially abundantly in mid summer. Fr - late summer. P - by seed, flowering the same or next year. Very ornamental. Extremely rare plant, does very well in cultivation, drought-resistant. Requires well-drained soil. Can grow many years once established. Z 6 (5). New.

Central Asia (Tien Shan: Chu-Ily mountains). In semidesert among Artemisia spp., in river valleys.
