Populus alba f. pyramidalis (Bunge) Dippel; P. alba var. bolleana (Lauche) Otto; P. bolleana Lauche.
Bark grayish white or bluish gray, smooth, slightly furrowed. Crown narrowly columnar or tower-shaped. Leaf blade orbicular, palmately parted on sprouts and long shoots, abaxially green and subglabrous, base truncate, margin with nearly asymmetric, coarsely notched teeth. 2n = 38*, 40*, 48*.
Planted in Gansu, Hebei, Liaoning, Nei Mongol, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi, more often in Xinjiang [native to WC Asia, Europe]
Only male specimens have been seen by the authors.
