Herbs erect. Stems 20-35 cm tall, purple-red, 4-angled, 4-sulcate, branched, retrorse gray pubescent, leafless. Racemes numerous, 1-10 cm; bracts ovate-lanceolate, 2.5-3.5 cm × 1-1.5 mm, 1.5-2 × as long as pedicels, gray pubescent, base attenuate, margin entire, ciliate, apex acute to acuminate. Calyx ca. 3.5 × 2.5 mm, to 5 × 4 mm in fruit, tube villous, otherwise pilose, limb 2-lipped, upper teeth triangular, middle tooth slightly shorter. Corolla purple, slightly exserted beyond calyx, puberulent outside. Nutlets unknown.
