山地香茶菜 shan di xiang cha cai

Shrubs to 60 cm, much branched. Branches subglabrous, bark peeling, branchlets densely gray stellate tomentulose. Petiole ca. 3 mm; leaf blade ovate, 0.7-1.5 cm × 5-13 mm, papery, corrugate, adaxially stellate villous, simple hairy, abaxially gray stellate tomentulose, base rounded to shallowly cordate, margin crenate, apex obtuse, lateral veins 3- or 4-paired. Panicles terminal, densely gray stellate tomentulose; cymes few, pedunculate, 3-5-flowered; floral leaves similar to stem leaves, reduced apically, margin entire; bracteoles linear, to 2 mm. Calyx campanulate, ca. 4 × 3.5-4 mm, whitish stellate villous, simple tomentose mainly on tube; teeth subequal, narrowly triangular, ca. 2 mm, ca. 1 mm wide at base. Corolla purplish or purple-blue, stellate pilose, tube slightly exserted, limb 2-lipped; upper lip almost as long as lower, ca. 3.5 mm. Stamens included. Style included. Nutlets unknown. Fl.
