Branchlets terete, with longitudinal ridges. Leaves simple; stipules brown, membranous, caducous; petiole very short, ca. 2 cm; leaf blade 2-5.5 × 2-5 cm, basal veins 3, lateral veins 3 or 4, veinlets inconspicuously raised, base nearly truncate or broadly cuneate, margin with 8-10 obtuse teeth on each side, apex often slightly 3-lobed. Inflorescence a polychasium, leaf-opposed or terminal; peduncle 2-5 cm. Pedicel 1-1.2 mm, glabrous. Buds ovoid, 1.3-1.6 mm, apex rounded. Calyx glabrous. Petals 5. Filaments flat; anthers yellow, ovoid. Style short. Berry 2- or 3-seeded. Seeds triangular-obovoid, surface with raised obtuse ribs, ventral holes short, raphe conspicuous. Fl. Jul, fr. Jun or Sep.
