杏(原变种) xing (yuan bian zhong)

Prunus armeniaca Linnaeus; P. tiliaefolia Salisbury.

Petiole glabrous; leaf base rounded to subcordate, adaxially glabrous. Flowers solitary. Drupe more than 2.5 cm in diam.; endocarp surface scabrous or smooth, base usually symmetric or rarely asymmetric.

Sparse forests on mountain slopes, also cultivated; 700--3000 m. Gansu, Hebei, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi, Sichuan, Xinjiang [C Asia].

Pure stands of Armeniaca vulgaris var. vulgaris occur in the Ili Kazak Zizhizhou of Xinjiang.
