Year-old branchlets glabrous; current year branchlets sparsely gray pubescent to subglabrous. Leaf blade elliptic to oblong-elliptic, 6-12.5 × 2.5-5.5 cm, apex acuminate. Bracteoles and sepals velutinous on both surfaces. Fl. Jan-Feb, fr. Sep-Oct.
