Cultivated. Gansu, Henan, Hubei, Nei Mongol, Shaanxi, W Sichuan.
The heavy, aromatic rhizomes of this cultivar are widely used in the popular Chinese medicine “Chuanxiong” (Rhizoma Chuanxiong).
