Young shoots densely or sparsely scaly, rarely pubescent. Calyx and pedicels densely scaly. Fl. Apr–Jun.

Coniferous forests, mixed forests, thickets in valleys; 2300–3600 m. N and SW Sichuan, N Yunnan.
